Delectable Highlights:
After being frozen for more than 12 hours, the tofu texture will change from silky to multi-layer, which will absorb more seasoning and make a scrumptious dish. Tofu contains high protein and wide variety of minerals, it serves as an excellent choice for healthy diet. This simple yet nutritious combination is best served with rice.

Ingredients
Fresh silk tofu x 1
Star anise x 3
Mushrooms x 4
Garlic, minced x 3 cloves
Dried shrimps x 15g
Cooking oil x 2 tsp
NutriTea Herbal Tea x 200 ml
Light soy sauce x 1½ tsp
A plate of chili sauce, for dipping (optional)    

Seasoning
Oyster sauce x 1 tsp
Light soy sauce x 1 tsp
Sugar x 1 tsp

Method
  1. Chill tofu in the refrigerator’s chiller overnight.
  2. Defrost tofu in hot water for 30 minutes.
  3. Wash mushrooms, star anise, dried shrimps and drain well.
  4. Soak mushrooms into hot water for 30 minutes. Scoop up and drain well.
  5. Dice mushrooms and shrimps.
  6. Heat oil in wok, sauté garlic, then stir fry mushrooms and shrimps, add in Seasoning.
  7. Pour light soy sauce and NutriTea Herbal Tea evenly onto tofu and braise together with star anise for 15 minutes.
  8. Serve tofu onto a serving plate and divide into quarter size. Pour diced mushrooms and shrimps onto it. Chilli sauce is for dipping purpose.

 

Tips:
Tofu is advisable to chill in the refrigerator after purchased; it can be kept up to one week. Those who prefer hot and spicy food, can add chilli sauce for better taste.
